The Flower Shop 818 came from fairly humble beginnings. It started with a passion and grew into a dream. After a few of designing and managing a local flower shop, Nadia Guzman decided to take over the retail business. After a year of running the brick & mortar, she decided to focus on weddings and events. It was decided that less overhead was best, so we moved into a studio and began growing her wedding floral business.

The Flower Shop 818 specializes in a variety of wedding styles and themes. We are always open to creating new designs and taking the road less traveled by. Our clients want their vision to be understood and executed professionally. We know starting the floral process can be confusing; you might not know where to start.

That’s why we’re here!

The face behind The Flower Shop 818 of Southern California

Hello, I’m Nadia and I’ll be your Florist Today!

I’m a Los Angeles native, born and raised in the city of Glendale. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated California State University of Northridge in technical theatre arts. There I excelled in many forms of design including makeup, costuming and props. Once out of college, I was desperate for a job and wanted to do something creative, organized and freeing. It was by chance that I found a delivery position at a flower shop.

At first it was just flower deliveries with some customer service, but then I got a taste of floral design and I was hooked. It was never my intention to become a florist, other than when I played Audrey in “Little Shop of Horrors“ while in high school. After one year of deliveries, I was promoted to designer and eventually manager.

A couple years later, I was given an opportunity to purchase the storefront and run the retail side of business. I was hesitant but decided to go for it. While running the shop, I realized my true passion was in creating beautiful arrangements for weddings and events. Following my true passion, I decided to move into a studio space to focus solely on larger events. Creating something cohesive and beautiful has given me such joy these last few years. I love bringing couples’ visions to life and designing all kinds of unique weddings.

Everyone deserves their happy ending and I want to be the one to help make it happen!

Since we’re all about the details, we can only service a limited number of clients each year. The Flower Shop 818 is still a small business and will most likely stay that way. Please reach out if you would like to work with us to design your special day!
